The award came as no surprise to the company who took on the role as advisor for a transaction for WLR Automotive. The M&A Advisor presented the award during its 2017 M&A Advisor Awards Gala, which took place in New York, NY at the Metropolitan Club. These were the 16th Annual M&A Advisor Awards, and M&A has been highlighting and awarding dealmakers and companies since 2002. David Fergusson, President and Co-CEO of The M&A Advisor was on-hand and commented that Madison Street Capital earned the award by shining in a crowd of other possible companies that had the chance to win the prize.
The Chief Executive Officer of Madison Street Capital, Charles Botchway, congratulated WLR Automotive on the deal and expressed how honored the company felt to be chosen. On top of being awarded with the Debt Financing Deal of the Year, the company almost was chosen as having the Financials Deal of the Year and made it to the finals for the Boutique Investment Banking Firm of the Year. At the Gala, the Executive Director of ACG New York, Bobby Blumenfeld, was also awarded when he was given the inaugural Tom Farrell Memorial Award.
